The spikes are protein and are carried via the blood to specific organs that process proteins.
Just like when you eat a steak.
From whence does the body “shed” protein particles?
Urine and feces.
Wash yer ding-dang hands.

We humans shed gobs of dead skin, hair and who knows what else and this material comes right off the body and never goes near the organs involved with protein processing. The spikes can be shed if the person coughs, or even breathes if we get really close (hugging a loved one). The viral particles could also be shed into tears, mucus from the nose, or possibly through other pathways.

The theory for the past year is fecal/oral transmission is how you get the rona.
It came from a spread event at a chinese highrise.
People on different floors were getting sick even though they had no contact with each other. As it turns out, chinese plumbing does not include traps. When someone flushes on the tenth story the vapors will flow unimpeded out of the drains on the lower floors.
So definitely: wash your hands.
