Exactly. There will always be some uncivilized people,but there seem to be so many more people these days that act that way.

Apparently, few parents socialize their children these days. Was a time when children were taught to act respectfully. Today, violence like this is glorified and is being perpetrated by these overgrown children who were never taught how to behave.

I cannot stand the coarsening of our society. I’m very old school like you, I can’t stand the coarse language, violence, disrespect (for others and self) sloppy dress, and general trashiness. A complete lack of self discipline and self control. You can really tell the difference when you look at newsreels from 40s and 50s (even some from 60s, 70s and 80s still had some civilization to them), or at old photograph albums. The communists have done a number on our society and culture.

in regards to the restaurant fight.....we all have a hot head or two in our family groups....strikingly, if Uncle Ben went on a tirade other family members would step in and deactivate him....

these families seemed to have no one to defuse the situation and that is the difference.
