I’d like the officer to bring a shovel. That’s all that will be required if some fool tries to stab me while I’m out and about. But since I’m in Utah (Constitutional carry starts May 5) it’s unlikely.
Have the officer shoot in the air and call for a social worker.
Portland, which experienced almost nightly riots last year, saw many of its police officers leave the force, citing lack of support from the city, being overworked, and having better opportunities elsewhere. All of this is occurring while certain crime rates have reached new highs.
Actually it is up to the person about to be stabbed. They should write a letter to the City Council protesting the lack of civility in the community, which, as we all know , is the absolute responsibility of the city council. The potential victim, she has not been stabbed yet so she has no real claim of action, should then write a letter to the local newspaper stating her case in the strongest, though polite terms.{sarc} just in case it is needed
If blacks don’t want cops shooting other blacks, then they shouldn’t call the cops. Most of them have guns anyway, and should just resolve those types of incidents themselves, especially since they won’t have to worry about any of their neighbors snitching them out.
The only response I want from the cop is to not arrest me after I blow the knife wielder’s brains all over the sidewalk.
In the case of that fat 15 year-old knife-wielder, she'd probably stab you for not getting her the 16-piece family size.
Someone should ask him if a warning shot was appropriate for Ashli Babbitt.

A flailing hand containing a deadly knife is a poor target.
I watch a guy on youtube - Active Self Protection. Some good lessons. One of his “mottos” goes something like:
Don’t be out at stupid times.
Don’t be out at stupid places.
And don’t be out with stupid people.
Obviously one can still find themselves in danger (like a Boulder grocery store in the afternoon), but they are good to remember.
Maybe Joy Reid can defuse a fight. Have her in a ride along with the police and when they get to such a situation they can say go ahead defuse the situation.
