A renowned UFO investigator claims to have debunked the US Navy footage of pyramid-shaped objects flying off the coast of California — saying it “in every way, matches a plane.”
Mick West, who is the author of “Escaping the Rabbit Hole,” said that there are plausible explanations for the three, flashing UFOs seen hovering over the USS Russell in July 2019.
“What we’ve got to go here with here is the simplest explanation and really the simplest explanation is that it’s just a plane. It moves like a plane, it acts like a plane,” West told The Post.
He said that the flashing lights seen coming from the object are similar to FAA-compliant lights on all normal airplanes.
“If you look at the video, you see it’s kind of flashing and it’s not flashing at a regular rate,” West said.
“It’s kind of like irregular, but it really reminds me of the flashing lights of a plane, and I looked into that and I found there are actually some planes that have a sequence of lights that like that there’s a long sequence overlaid a short sequence.”
The supposed UFOs were also moving at the same speed as planes in the area, West said.
“If you assume it’s a plane at 33,000 feet, you can calculate his angular velocity, from the information that that’s available with the positions of stars,” West said.
“You can see it’s a bit less than one degree per second, which translates to about 400 to 450 knots, which is the exact same speed that the planes in that region were flying. At that time, that’s the speed that they fly over that area going towards Los Angeles. So, in every way, it matches a plane.”

Such a great movie. I posted the negotiation scene here yesterday I think.
Harry Reed seems to be involved in pushing this stuff.
Debunking every UFO sighting seen by folks all over the world for thousands of years sounds like a full time job!
You could move a beam of light across the sky faster... the key would be making it appear to have mass. That said I believe there are some real ones out there... but these might be inventions of ours. Time will tell if this is a message sent to China and Russia or a real batch of UFO’s...
I am very interested in UFOs, but the Harry Reid and John Podesta support of this stuff is creepy—enough to make me question everything about it.
The pilots and all those monitoring these sightings visually and with instruments including radar could not ID these as ordinary aircraft?? Does not seem likely. Surely the most advanced navy on earth has the capability to ID aircraft in its proximity. If it can’t...
"simplest explanation is that it’s just a plane. It moves like a plane, it acts like a plane,”
Except it doesn't 'move like a plane.' Deck logs obtained through FOIA requests clearly show 'snoopie' teams had spent more than an hour photographing 'drones' that 'hovered' (their words) immediately above the superstructure and fantail of the Russell (and other ships during the exercise), keeping pace with the vessel as it moved through the water at 15-knts. Planes don't move at 15-knots, at least not for an hour because of a little thing called physics.
Of course, this idiot wouldn't know that because he has ZERO experience as an aeronautical engineer (or engineer of any kind), pilot or in the military much less the US Navy. Other than official 'UFO Expert,' what are his professional qualifications? He was a video game designer.
Skepticism of the origin of these things is fine, warranted even. But, creating a series of straw men to slay to 'prove' their earthly, mechanical origin isn't any better than describing the objects as extraterrestrial.
If this is the best the debunkers have, then...
That said, I like to at least glance at the comments from all sides of an issue to see who is making sense. As you say, this guy is creating strawmen. And that is a kind of news in and of itself.
When the coup is complete and we are all off to the gulags, they will need someone to blame it on. “UFOs invaded.”
That’s not the video in question. This one is the one with what looks like IR or low-light cameras taking pics of pyramid-shaped objects that flashed. These really do look like camera/focus artifacts, but the government didn’t state that, they just said the videos are “real”. Not that they are aliens or whatever, but that the video was confirmed to be from Navy sources.
Part of the story involves a plan to bring the world factions together against a common enemy. To do this, they destroy much of the city of New York and blame it on an alien invasion.
Just a little something to help you sleep at night. ;)
Oops for me. Still embarrassing for the Navy though.
Yep according to that UFO “researcher”, things have gotten so bad in the US Navy, they are no longer able to recognize planes visually or on radar. There are two documented incidents were US Navy personnel were unable to recognize container ships on radar or visually. So its time to disband the Navy or make it a floating social experiment ... wait ...
Time will tell if this is a message sent to China and Russia or a real batch of UFO’s...

According to one military site, the message is to us from another earthly power. Then again, the site owner is such a flaming lib, he drove away all the military knowledgeable active and retired posters
“I am very interested in UFOs, but the Harry Reid and John Podesta support of this stuff is creepy—enough to make me question everything about it.”
Yes.
Thanks for Reid. I forgot how to spell his name.
The UFO field is a rabbit hole of charlatans, hucksters, lunatics, manipulators, agents, occultists, naifs and others.
“It’s kind of like irregular, but it really reminds me of the flashing lights of a plane, and I looked into that and I found there are actually some planes that have a sequence of lights that like that there’s a long sequence overlaid a short sequence.”
Yup, exactly my thought as I watched the video, conspicuity lights. Now why would the government blow smoke like that? Occam’s Razor says they want us to think their new secret plane is a UFO should we see one. Stills sucks they are lying A-holes though.
I read a UFO article awhile back in which the writer offered his opinion that there really wouldn’t be any reason at all for an “alien craft” to have flashing lights unless the operators were attention freaks or seeking to disguise their craft like an earthly airplane.
Seeing the description of flashing lights here is kind of a red flag for me.
I’m not sure that plot would work anymore.
Rather than avenge NYC, I’d be inclined to give the aliens a hearty Thank You and ask them if they had time to swing by DC and work their magic on their way out.
Even the thought of alien overlords isn’t all that scary anymore. Could they be any worse than what haunts the Whitehouse and halls of Congress now, not to mention the alphabet agencies?
I watched a guy on youtube talking about the Mafia, and I couldn’t help think that if I had to choose between the Mafia and a typical Democrat administration, I think I’d pick the Mafia.
At least with the mafia you know what to expect; the ideas coming out of a democrat aren’t much different from their mouth of the other end of the alimentary canal.
I always crack up at these "professional skeptics" - they can't claim one true discovery or they are out of business.
I used to respect "The Amazing Randi" because of his, sometimes hilarious, debunking of seers and other frauds. He was all hot to debunk "dowsers" and had a field divided into two sides - one with jugs of water, one with Precious Metals. The water guys had something like an 80% hit ratio while the PM guys bombed at 10%.
Instead of allowing the water guys were true, he combined the results and said both sides "averaged" 45%, and thereby false.
I wrote him off after that.
