NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A high-ranking Norfolk Police officer who was found donating to the defense fund of Kyle Rittenhouse has been fired from the police department.
Kyle Rittenhouse is the man charged with the murder of two Black Lives Matter protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last August.
According to the Guardian newspaper on Friday, Sgt. William Kelly, who served as the executive officer of NPD’s internal affairs division, made an anonymous $25 donation to Rittenhouse’s defense in September. However Kelly used an official email address linked to himself, the Guardian reported.

Yes, Rittenhouse was illegally holding a gun. We will see what comes out in his trial, but I think he will be seeing serious time, just like Chauvin.

IOW, anonymity is for the left.
Tell him Mohave county is hiring.
Correct!
Was Grosskreutz in legal possession of a firearm?
He had intent to kill a teenager with it prior to any offense by Rittenhouse.
May someone smack you upside the head with a skateboard repeatedly some day.
Kelly used an official email address linked to himself
Guess it wasn't that anonymous then.
Why use an "official" e-mail if you want to be left anonymous?
Or:
Guilty No Matter What
He should sue. I doubt it will be difficult to find official e-mail addresses being used for all kinds of personal business. He was singled out.
Nope...the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, originally set to begin March 29, was been delayed until November 1. He is out on bail.
The cop will most likely win the suit. He probably didn’t actually use his work official e-mail, just the address.
At least he was honest with you.
And therefore, let this be a lesson to us all.
Afterall, the government gets to decide whether or not someone has 2nd Amendment protection, amirite?
And defending yourself from enraged leftists, who also had guns, and are trying by act and word to kill you, should not be allowed for any conservative.
So, the sergeant who was fired made a donation to someone who hasn't been convicted of anything, merely accused.
Why would using a work email address for the donation be a problem in a country that wasn't being run by mob rule?
Oh, wait - the United States IS being run by mob rule...
What DU rock did YOU crawl out from under?
I was very careful to never use my work email address for anything personal. When mobile phones became available with email, it was a lot easier to use the phone for personal mails and texts.
Never use company property or services for personal work. That’s an invitation to problems down the road, especially if the employer is looking for reasons to fire you. The property and service owned by the company and provided to employees for the conduct of business. Keep the two separated.
True - but you seem to be missing the point.
So please explain the point to dummies like me.
Appears that would be a waste of my time...
"...If you listen to fools, the mob rules!..."
You are one nasty piece of work.
