It’s been a really frosty April this year across Central Europe. Germany so far has seen it’s second coldest April since records began in 1881...
Coldest since 1917..
April across much of Europe has been unusually cold, frosty and even snowy, and the media have been awfully quiet about it. The following chart shows the mean temperature anomalies with respect to the 1991-2020 reference period so far (up through April 17):..
With a mean temperature of 4.5°C for Germany, April so far continues to be the second coldest since 1881, according to German DWD national weather service records. Only 1917 was colder at a mean of 4.3°C...
Another cold blast forecast for next weekend..
And it likely isn’t going to change too much, as the ECMWF model is forecasting yet another unusual April cold wave with snow and frost for next week. A warm up is forecast near the end of the month, but that is still some 10 days out..
Most snowy April in 35 years..
One thing is already certain: For Germans, it will be the most snowy April since 1986..
The WO/GFS forecasts (left and right) see a continuation of the April winter with widespread ground frost from April 23. Extremely cold air with up to -12°C deviations from the old WMO climate mean 1981-2010 over Germany is projected on April 26 at 850 hPa. Sources: WO/GFS forecasts Tmin ground Germany and WZ/GEM forecasts TA850 Europe..
Northern hemisphere cooling continues...
It is snowing around Detroit as I type this.
Sis-in-law texted and told us.
Yeah. That works. Global warming melts the glacial ice, and the cold water lowers the temp of the oceans, which lowers the avg temp
So warming leads to cooling. Got it
BTW, the models show that the La Nina is going neutral in the next few months. then it will ramp up again next fall.
The ocean conveyor belts have just about flipped.
The next few years are going to be interesting. Drought in places and extreme cold in others.
Yup...29 in Minneapolis tonight predicted
Not just in Germany, pretty much all Europe is having cold spell. Freezing, snow, rain.
Even Sahara and Saudi Arabia got some snow this year!
I think Joe’s plan is working! You just need to cancel the pipeline and the global warming is gone! Congratulations John Kerry! Great job.
Now you just need to explain it to the Germans. They do not seem to be too happy about it.
Snow is in the forecast in the Ohio Valley... On April 20/21!
Nah. Just give the data to NOAA. When they’re done with it, this will be Germany’s hottest year evah!
Paging little Greta Scolding-Finger.
We are supposed to tie a record low tonight in Texas where I live. I ain’t complaining. The blast furnace will be on soon enough.
...and it is sticking alot. Orchards are getting ready to do weather battle tonight.
With 2+ inches of snow, our town broke a record for April 20 that had stood for over 100 years.
Now the CLIMATE CRISIS kicked in and it’s melting rapidly...
It is snowing around Detroit as I type this.
——————-
It’s snowing in the Front Range of the Rockies as well. Oh wait. It always does, sometimes until late May.
Right...That’s why I used it...LOL
The eco freaks use “climate change” now because it can’t be denied or proven false...
The “climate” changes all the time...
So pretty normal?
I got to Ansbach in 86.
Except for the 84 degree day.
It snowed yesterday. If this Global warming continues in the Midwest USA, we’re all going to freeze to death 🥶
After 40 years of “Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming”, the actual measured satellite global average temperature as of March 31 2021 was -0.01 degrees C from its baseline in 2000. Up 0.25 degrees (one quarter of one degree!) from the start of measurements 41 years ago with the 1979-1980 rocket launches!
The satellite measurement is most important because it surveys the atmospheric global “temperature” (measuring the IR emissions in the upper atmosphere) across ALL continents and continental areas (populated, mild, desert, mountainous, jungle and cropland and wooded) and ALL seas and oceans - not just a few cities around the edges of continents!
