And the vaccine has been completely ineffective in stopping congresswomen from saying nasty hateful things and inciting riots or improving Joe Biden’s memory.
If the article were about COVID-19 infections giving you shingles, the collective “SO WHAT?!” from those same people would be deafening. But if it could possibly be linked to a vaccine?
It’s the end of humanity. 6 people got shingles. It’s all over. We’re doomed.

Side effect of Moderna vaccine may be a delayed skin rash, doctors warn

Fear porn.
I have to admired their choice of words in the headline. I did not know shingles as herpes. I have only heard the other herpes kissing type until now.
Bump for later
And the hits keep on coming.
I agree with you there, so long as that information is within a reasonable context. For example, if someone says "doing X doubles your risk of dying from Y!" That's information. It may even be true information. What's the missing context? The nominal risk. If the risk of dying from Y is 1 in 300 million, then doing X gives you a risk of 1 in 150 million. Still so ridiculously low that you shouldn't care about it.
The context in this case is that this is a small study, correlation does not equal causation, no causal link has been found, no real measure of potential risk increase is available, and shingles is unpleasant, but easily treatable. As I said, this is worth further study to see whether there is an increased risk and if so, that should be presented to people making that choice. But it deserves the full context.
What a deal
seriously, there has to be more shingles than that in the normal population
Boy this vaccine news keeps getting better and better.

Honey, it was the vaccine. I swear it😯😉
Herpes zoster (shingles) is a completely different thing than what we think of as personally or sexually transmitted herpes.
Israel went from nearly 10,000 new COVID-19 cases per day and as many as 100 COVID-19 deaths per day to under 150 new cases per day and about 5 deaths per day. That’s continuing to drop rapidly thanks to their high vaccination rate. All their neighbors are seeing COVID-19 cases and deaths either rise or remain stable. All of them. Israel is the only one seeing massive drops.
This is 6 cases of shingles in a country of 6 million people which may or may not have any relation to the vaccines whatsoever. If this is the worst “news” about the vaccines, they’re doing pretty well.
Sounds like your interested in more information on the study. Or at least, have a lot of questions about their study. From the OP, the study can be found here...
Herpes zoster following BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 vaccination in patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases: a case series

You see, if someone you love or care about has an autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic disease, this just might be of interest to them.
More information is trickling in about the side effects from the covid vaccines. This is to be expected because they are, after all, experimental vaccines at this point.
A friend in his mid 80’s and a walking/talking role model for a handful of serious diseases got this after his second Moderna shot.
He was treated as an out patient in the PPO shot clinic with some type of injection.
Within a few days, new out breaks stopped and in a week, he was okay.
They made the diagnosis via a picture taken by his wife with her smart phone.
Shingles is a type of herpes virus.
Shingles = herpes zoster.
