They also delivered a real alternative. Lindell is getting hosed and these tech teams didn’t deliver any functional interactive site.

That’s terrible and they had no business doing that to Lindell. But they did and probably for ridiculous costs in the many millions.

This is not a growing pain. They failed to deliver a working system. There’s literally no interactive project delivered on what was promised to Lindell.

And that is it, It is at this point no more than just an average news blog. One sided horn tooting with no external input. Whatfinger news already has that covered well. If Mike plans on making any difference at all it absolutely needs a forum platform with external input. And lose the trackers it does not need. Hidden trackers just abuse your guests. I was afraid they would go off and ruin the concept and step on their own toes by following “the norm”.

That is not the point, it is the principle. Hidden trackers abuse your visitors. It is lack of appreciation for those who support you. A supporting user/visitor should not have to “protect themselves” from those you would like to support. Ads one thing, hidden trackers another whole world.

I sympathize with Lindell as he doesn’t know IT. These people are jerks who had him write seven figure checks. They delivered nothing of what was promised.

I think part of the problem is that it is now the industry “standard” and unwritten rule that every site absolutely has to have all those 3rd party API services. When in reality it doesn’t need any of them at all, everything can be done in house just as easy. Developers have now been brainwashed into thinking this is normal standard practice and a prerequisite to farm out to 3rd parties.

Maybe a separate topic from this project. The project offered to Lindell does not exist.

They took his money and didn’t deliver anything. He has a run-of-the-mill website with some stories.

That’s not a Twitter-Facebook alternative like Gitmo.Life another new free speech actually is.

I absolutely agree... The big beef was with social platforms and that an alternative was needed. And it is... This is not going to get anywhere, A social platform would be HUGE and unstoppable.
