Perhaps he was just trying to feed his family.
Maybe, his people hunted rhinos for thousands of years and all of a sudden some gubmin paper pusher tells him he can't.
Maybe the rhinos were destroying food crops or becoming aggressive toward people.
Native Americans are allowed to hunt whales and eagles but you do it and you'll be put away for a long time.
Would they feel the same about an Idaho rancher that kills wolves or a grizzly, "illegally" that are killing his animals or endangering his family?

Many poachers are poor as dirt...some starving....not all....some are also insurgents ...Mozambique insurgents poached in the Wild Geese era like crazy
