I was wondering when this change would happen. I have clients that live in a very upscale shopping district, conveniently right off the freeway too. In fact one is looking to purchase in this particular district because they feel so ‘safe.’
I reminded her of the massive daylight theft of the Michael Kors store. MK left within 8 weeks of the theft.
And the machete wielding man trying to steal pedigreed dogs one evening. Police arrested without incident.
I worry about my clients who have moved into flipped/gentrified homes in some areas right next to slum housing. Shook my head this weekend as one set of gentrified townhomes installed GLASS front doors. And these in an area that older homes have bars on the windows and stores with metal roll downs?
I had clients who lived in the heart of the city and were horrified as the bottom of the shops under their apartments were set on fire. They felt like they couldn’t escape without running into violent rioters. Ultimately they were fine, but needless to say they have since moved way out from the city.
Even my quiet little block has loosely organized. But, we know it is coming, we saw glimpses of it last year as some cities did see protestors in nice neighborhoods at midnight. We’ll see just how strong the ‘stand your ground’ law really is.
You aren’t talking about a particular neighborhood near the Atlanta zoo are you? Those people are sitting ducks. One of the most insane gentrification areas I have ever seen.
BLM went after DuPont Circle and Georgetown in DC this past summer, banging pots and screaming for the residents to get out of “their” houses; used to live there, its all limousine liberals.
Are you in Manhattan??
