In the video I watched, they mentioned that he was visiting Mandela’s cell. Their point was about the timing of the event.

So they DID know better, but they did not SCREAM pay attention now this is MANDELA’s cell-I suppose they assumed that people could listen carefully enough to not have to exert extraordinary effort to point it out.
