I thought of that too. Whatever her intention was, the practical effect is probably going to be to get Chauvin off the hook.
But think of it this way. Now the MPLS jury can find him guilty with less of a dirty conscience, and then at a later date with no announcement or fanfare an appeals court can throw the whole thing out and there won’t be no riots, no problem. Or at least not as bad as throwing it out now, with all the animals out there baying for blood.
