Nope. MTV went mainstream programming long before the internet and youtube. Loooong before. Management found they could make more money on shows than music videos and the DJ’s stopped working for peanuts..

Any video that used to be played on MTV is instantly available on YouTube on demand. Sometimes it's fun to pull them up randomly. The other night, I checked out "She Blinded Me With Science" by Thomas Dolby. Hadn't seen that one in a while.

You have to sit through a 15 second commercial on most of them. I think for a monthly fee you can get it without the ads. But I don't really care too much so long as they are 15 seconds or less.

Almost all the videos have "VEVO" watermarked on them. I believe that is an outfit that actually hosts the videos and sends revenue back to the copyright owners. Hopefully the artists as well.
