Raul Castro is stepping down as the head of the Communist Party of Cuba, the most powerful position on the island, with few expectations of significant change among Cubans.
It is however, a historic move — Castro and his late brother, Fidel Castro, have been in power since the 1959 revolution.

At one time my hope was that a one time GOP darling Marco Rubio on his POTUS inauguration would call for big riots down there. Take down the Castros like Khadafy. With Raul stepping down they’ve won.

When I lived in Florida, I had many Cuban friends. A doctor couple were neighbors, and our kids carpooled to school. The sad reality is that most of the best - who could lead the next revolution - have left Cuba.
What a disaster the Kennedy's were. Jack, Bobby and Ted. Ted was actually the worst, because he lived the longest.
There’s more. We could give them 30 days alone to get their affairs in order just like we did after Japan surrendered. Then we go in and TRANSFORM the entire country just like Trump’s offer to the Norks-fast forward, pedal to the metal. It would be a total nonviolent surrender to capitalism. Think of it as a fixer upper project.

Nope. They’d have to do it OUR way. Pay them 25 cents an hour while they absorb their new opportunities. Doctors down there make $26/mo. Put them all to work using illegal Mexicans in this country’s jails-spanish speaking. Make them supervisors as they know construction. Next float a bunch of barges to their ports filled with nothing but Ford Fiestas from our junk yards-keep the metrics out. Last deport the Cubans in this country with a rap sheet. Win win.
