.......the confessional memoir by Presidential ne’er do well son Hunter Biden is a flop after one week. NPD Book Scan says the book, in which Hunter whines about being a drug addict who slept around and has no memory of fathering a child, has sold just 10,000 copies in its first week. For a celebrity book with so much PR, TV appearances, etc, that’s not a lot.
On Amazon, it once ranked at number 130 and is now 177. Nevertheless, an early surge of sales based on Biden’s appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning” puts “Beautiful Things” at number 4 on the New York Times Bestseller list that comes out today. But that will be short lived. Last week, “Rock Me on the Water,” a terrible book about cultural trends in 1974, hit the list after its “Sunday Morning” plug. It’s gone this week.
Hunter’s TV appearances on CBS were embarrassing. He came off like Eddie Haskell from “Leave it to Beaver”: cloying, unsympathetic, whiny, sycophantic.
Hunter has a sad story, certainly: when he was a child his mother and sister were killed in a car accident. As an adult, his brother died from cancer. So Hunter turned to crack cocaine, slept with his sister-in-law, and fathered a child with a woman he doesn’t remember. Forget about his questionable business life. The guy is a creep. Instead of honoring his family, he brought them disgrace.
Meantime, NPD Bookscan reports that four of the bestselling books so far this year, and also in March, were by Dr. Seuss. They are: “The Cat in the Hat,” “Oh the Places You’ll Go,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” and “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.” This was after Dr. Seuss’s estate withdrew six of his old books because they had outdated racist images. That decision turned out to be the best sales PR ever! Hunter should have called his book, “Oh the Places I Went!”
Ok, now that’s funny! LOL
I watch a YouTube channel where a panel analyzes body language of various celebrities, criminals, etc. They just released a video on Hunter Biden yesterday. Right off the bat, the first analyst called Hunter Biden ‘Eddie Haskell’.
Here’s the link; it’s about 1.5 hours long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKw7CuLzwhU
That is funny......thanks for the link.
It should have been titled “Reflections of Public Beautiful Things.”
Book deals like Hunter Biden’s are little more than money laundering. I’m sure some CCP members will also buy his Dollar Store “paintings” at Picasso prices. Does the Big Guy still get 10%?
Think about The Big Guy's ten percent, people!
Eddie Haskel didn't do his underage niece, either...
Not as good a way of laundering money as having an art gallery, and now he’s got that, too!
You beat me to it. I loved Eddie Haskel.
“He got paid.”
It’s how the libs launder money, and they’ve been doing it for a long time.
The advance was his bribe, with 10% for the big guy.
To be frank: TV viewers saw far too much of the “Beautiful Things” author which failed to show any beauty whatsoever.
“He got paid. There was never any expectation that the book would sell. That was never the point.”
Right. Just another way to launder huge payoffs.
It was never about the sales, just money laundering operation for leftists. Simon and Schuster should be burned to the ground.
No problemo. The gubmint can just buy them all up. “
That’s exactly how its done.
His book wouldn’t even make decent toilet paper.
It was never intended to be a book bought and read by the public. It was designed to be bought in bulk by people expecting favors from the Biden Administration.
Who would pay money to read this loser’s thoughts?
Joey says he's the SMARTEST person he knows!! RIGHT...cause ge brings in MILLIONS of DOLLARS to the FAMILY! MILLIONS!
The only people who would donate money to Hunter by buying this book are virtue-signaling, rabid liberals like one I (unfortunately) know.
She announced, apropos of nothing, that she was going to buy his book, as if she’s helping pull himself up by the bootstraps, and said sympathetically, “He’s been through a lot!”
I guess she missed the fact he’s probably a billionaire, considering his Chinese deals.
