700’ above the rear of the navy ship is only a little higher than some cell towers are tall. They should have been able to turn the spotlights on it and get really good closeup pics and video.

The various ship logs indicate that SNOOPIE teams (Ship’s Nautical or Otherwise Photographic and Interpretive Examination team) were activated and observed the aircraft in question. Their job is to record and analyze photographic evidence...so they have plenty of photos that haven’t been released.
Yeah, I thought the video was terrible quality.
