Lot of Big Trade Shows and Conventions are scheduled for Vegas this September and October.
Some of our local supermarkets have started up the one way isles, mask wearing and social distance announcements again.
If I were a convention planner there’s not a snowballs chance in hell I would schedule anything in a democrat run state this year or even early next year.
“My bucket list is now one item lighter.”
Mine, too. Also visiting Europe.
Another Blue Utopia.
My cousin loves Vegas and normally goes a couple times a year. Last time she reported the same type of stories as this report. Such a shame.
I don’t remember much of my four days in Vegas in the 70s, but the mob made sure it was very safe for me to leave behind what money I had.
A good friend jut got back. Sent him this. He said this was greatly exaggerated. He has gone there twice a year for almost 30 years. Seemed mostly normal to him. The strip has had shady parts for many years.
Two new venues just opened - The exhibition hall at Ceasar’s and the massive West Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Vegas has pulled shows out of California into these new locations. We will see if the Trade Shows take place as scheduled.
I wish them the best of luck. At least in Vegas they likely have a chance.
I doubt CA will see a major convention this year. Even if they allow it, who would want to go to SF or LA with the massive homeless issues.
Mount Charleston?
That would be Summerlin. I have friends that live in Vegas so I go at least once a month, sometimes every 2 weeks. We usually stay away from the strip and go to Red Rock or South Point. I’ve stayed on the strip when they had other company and yeah....it has changed. It’s packed again right now but it’s definitely a different class of people. I blame it on the casinos hotel prices. They’re trying to attract people again. Once the prices go back up I think it’ll be better.
My daughter just informed me she is moving to Vegas first part of June. I’ll have even more treason to go then.
The same crowds have been ruining my native San Juan, PR. And it’s almost always the “gentle giants” of da’ Hood.
