I have two teenagers who attend the local public high school in our leafy inner ring suburb of a Midwestern city. My wife and I were attracted to this community 20+ years ago by its beautiful old houses, quiet streets, and tolerant and diverse citizens. Judging by the ubiquitous yard signs blossoming over the past few years, it remains a Mecca for liberal-minded folk who proudly and publicly declare that Black Lives Matter, Love is Love, Science is Real, No Firearms Found Here, etc., etc. Perhaps most importantly, the school district has an outstanding reputation for educating open minded, bright, and talented youth.
But oh, what a mirage!
Earlier this month, the school board announced its approval of a new anti-bias, anti-racism policy. With its declaration, however, the board implicitly acknowledged its own past racism. After all, why would the new policy be needed if not for their failings? I was thus stunned to learn that racism had existed to such a degree in our seemingly virtuous yard-sign festooned little town that the school board felt compelled to create an entirely new bureaucracy to rid the district of it, root and branch.
One hopes that the efforts of the highly paid head of this new anti-racism campaign will begin by holding to account those in positions of power within the school district for allowing such intolerable conditions of racism and bias to exist heretofore unchecked. Indeed, the eggs of bias must be cracked and transformed into omelets of equity. I for one look forward to members of the board and its superintendent publicly recounting their past racist sins

What the heck has happened to the wealthy in this country?!
This is the real battle. When well to do white upper middle class people become neo pagans, embrace decadence and ooze pseudo guilt, the Left wins. White neo pagan decadence is the great catalyst of American decline and the destruction of the American nation. Its exactly what happened in Russia between 1890 and 1917.
I think our culture is full of fecal matter, and it needs to not be full of fecal matter. How do we fix this?

Historically it’s usually the ease of gaining wealth and the opulence associated with being and living that wealthy lifestyle. It makes them as Julius Caesar once wrote, effeminate societies. Julius Ceasar spoke latin, and in latin the term effeminate in this regard refers to being soft.
Only a true racist would talk this way. And only true racists would feel it necessary to plant yard signs to "declare their virtue."
I moved to the suburbs some 30+ years ago so that I could have some piece and quiet after work and send my kids to halfway decent public schools. I moved to the suburbs so I could hear crickets and tree frogs at night instead of honking horns, sirens and loud music.
I couldn't care less about the "diversity" of the community. Means zilch to me. Could be 100% white or black for all I care. All I know is to live out there, you need to be somewhat affluent and would tend to be too busy working and paying your bills to give me any trouble one way or the other.
It turned out being a pretty good bet. Never had any hassles with neighbors and such. Kids turned out okay and live in their own suburban communities.

Indeed, half of the school board and school administrators should resign immediately so they can be replaced by non-racists.
Sounds like the suburb I grew up in. It didn’t start out that way, but between the 60s and the presence of a major university, it became that way as the older generation died or moved away. They plant the virtue-signaling signs in their yards and proclaim support for all the “correct” causes, but are the most shallow frauds you’ll ever meet.
lt Sounds to me like what that “leafy inner ring suburb” needs is a large low income housing project.
