“...In their paper published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the group notes that the human hand naturally emits IR and they demonstrate that the radiation can be captured and used....”
************************************************************
Wow, who knew! Irradiated body heat can be used to warm things up and the things warmed up have captured energy/“power” from the source. /sarc
Plugging them into the matrix might yield results.
I need to, once again, thank my wife for allowing me to “capture and use” her radiation. It warms my heart.
Uri Geller tried to tell people about this some 40 years ago. He was labeled as some kind of Kook.
Dam right we do
And people who can see the body’s “auras” can see the emisions, or areas lacking emisions
Similar to birds being able to see magnetic fields for navigation while flying.
Does that mean that a human being has a magnetic field as well?
I’m sure the human head puts out a lot of IR energy as well...

OMG, 45 years ago I thought my MIL was nutty for trying to cure my headache with johrei - energy emanating from her hands. (It didn’t work.)
“”Does that mean that a human being has a magnetic field as well?””
We got something! I know that when I use my right hand to move the screens on my phone it goes black, my left hand doesn’t do that. It’s a real pain since I’m right handed.
Magnetically shielded room.
Powerless? Not unless you are dead!
Reminds me of something long ago called Kirilian photography or some such.
In the winter, weeks before anything actually happens, I can drive down the highway and see which trees and shrubs are ready to go.
I can’t really describe it but there’s sort of a “glow” around them but that’s not exactly the right description, either.
More of an internal emanation.
I dunno.
Can’t describe it properly.
I have tried to point this out to others but they don’t see it.
A useless talent save for cheering me a bit on a miserable, gray day.
nurseries and gardening stores would find that useful
"Infrared radiation" -- commonly called "HEAT". From your hands. What a revelation, your hands are warm. SURPRISE.
"Powerless" my rear end. The food you eat has CALORIES and if you know anything about heat, you know that heat is measured in CALORIES (kcals if you wish). The caloric content of food is the amount of heat energy it gives off when burned. Like during your body metabolism.
So all this silly article is saying is that when you eat food, your body is warm, and your hands give off warmth (infrared radiation).
In other news, water is wet and if you throw something up in the air it will probably come back down.
Kirlian photography has to do with the coronal discharge patterns exhibited by various objects, both inert (like coins) and living (like leaves and human body parts). It's an interesting phenomenon, but has also been associated with various paranormal activities and beliefs which are for the most part debunked and/or garbage.
I worked with physicists doing Kirlian photography in the 1970's when it was very popular and hip in research circles. It was interesting, but nothing like it was hyped up to be.
In any case, it's not in any way related to the heat produced by the body as a result of normal metabolism, which is the topic of this breathless and rather overblown article.
I no longer know where all my freaky gypsy/Stevie Nicks clothes are so I could float around acting properly weird, so...no.
:D
My dad has some pictures he took using infrared film and various heat sources such as clothes iron, space heater, oven, etc as illuminators.
