OJ 287 is a supermassive black hole with a mass equal to 18 billion suns. Orbiting it is a "small' black hole of 'only' 150 million solar masses. (The Black hole at the center of our galaxy is 4.2 million times the mass of the sun).

It got the attention of Astronomers because twice every 12 years it got a trillion times brighter in a seemingly random way. The latest flare up was predicted to within 15 minutes of when it happened again. It's orbit actually makes a Rosetta pattern predicted by General relativity. The scale of the universe boggles my mind. The complexity of DNA is on the same scale. All of this happening by chance? Absurd
