Hi, Vision! That IS a decent line-up. Too bad we can’t stomach the show anymore.

How’s it going?

All’s well up here Gina. Mulching the yard and eating some steaks has been the theme of this weekend. You?

Hi Viking, feeling ok?

Yarp. Overall. The lowlight of my last two weeks (I'm still waiting for a 2021 highlight) was last Sunday. She didn't want to go to Easter service because the 'regular' interim pastor has sermons lasting about 30 minutes, tops, and she said it would take longer to dress and drive there and back than the sermon would last. But she had to orchestrate an Easter 'family get-together' ( 🙄 ) and I spent over a hundred bucks Saturday evening, getting artisan bread, cheese, a 3 pound canned Hormel ham, veggie platter, pickles, olives, etc. I wanted to stud the ham with pineapple and cherries and bake it in the oven for an hour or so to reheat it, but everyone got here early, and while I was in the shower, one of those slopeheads opened the ham and stuck it in the microwave. It's a microwave-convection oven combo, and they dried it out. Someone brought a smoked Boston butt, and by the time I got around to making myself a plate, they'd eaten the entire loaf of brioche bread, all the smoked butt, the deviled eggs (which were fresh from her niece's chicken coop - not pre-deviled, of course 😂), and drank all of my diet soda. I ended up with a glass of lemonade and a shicken salad sammich on Wonder bread. Yes, I was quite surly and stayed here in the den the rest of the day. Bad idea to piss me off when I'm surrounded by firearms, but it keeps my sense of family and tolerance in check. Just another holiday blown to hell at the Viking Residence. Hope yours went well. LOL

Other than that, I got most of our Spring inventory viaa walk-in or online - pool start-up chemicals, another blueberry bush, another muscadine grape vine. I plan on getting a few more blueberry bushes to plant when she moves her rose bushes, but the one I did get is still in the greenhouse pot and has so many flowers on it already, we may get a quart of them sitting in the planter. I'm digging up that anemic Fuji apple tree, potting it in the courtyard in a 24" pot to try to restore its health, and getting a 7' or 8' Red Delicious to plant in the open hole. Plus the muscadine vine is still boxed and bagged on the windowsill, and has grown two feet in two weeks and is budding. It's a gold/rose variety of grape, and I have one in a pot last year that survived and it'll prduce the dark violet grapes. We had a trellis of them at the old house, and they're such quick-growing and prolific, there's a good four month harvest that happens. She had it cut down because she swears she saw a possum nesting in there. I told her she scared the possum more than the possum scared her, so leave it alone. She waited until I was at work on her day off and had my step-son cut it down at the root. This time, they're getting an arbor.

Convection baked. The ham was a heat-and-eat, but it wasn't chopped and pressed like Spam. It was a whole cut. I just wanted the house to smell nice and let it cook a little with cherries, and pineapple chunks and juice. Believe me, I was surprised when I saw how much stainless metal there is in it - one would think it would shoot lightning bolts when you tried to microwave with it, but it works. I texted her earlier when she was at work and gave her some dinner options, and she wanted smoked sausage with peppers and onions, and perogies on the side. I went to the market to get sour cream and a few other things, and when I got home, I put everything on the counter. She came in to get a glass of wine and said, "Awwwwwww." I'm like, what? She said she saw the white plastic bags and thought I got our favorite Chinese instead.

Guess who's going back out for a pick-up order. I guess the smoked sausage and perogies are gonna be on tomorrow's menu.

And I never should have vented about the Spring chores. When I left, I saw about five other things I need to do. Oh, well, I need something to get my blood circulating, anyway. I’m getting moldy sitting here.

Uh-huh. See? I knew I should have looked deeper into the carryout bag. They forgot the duck sauce for our spring rolls and my fried won tons for my hot and sour soup. Such is how things have been going lately.

I gotta stream some Enya or Yanni or John Tesh and chill.

Ah, Enya. Orinoco Flow. I'm reaching my Zen spot.

I couldn’t take the Zen. Too calming. I went from Enya to Van Halen in fifteen minutes. LOL
