Scholar VDH said we should get out of the middle East. Should we? Assad didn’t persecute christians. Khadafy was in his box. Saddam was just plain stupid. Our POTUS experienced in foreign policy(Biden) wanted an independent Kurdistan. Syria, Turkey, Iran and Iraq have Kurds. Peaceful coexistence? No way but more fighting amongst them-in our interests?

The Biden/Obama policy is Regime Change in the middle East Because that ties in with the Globalist World Governance.

Are chemical weapons WMDs? Yes

Did Hussein use them on the Kurds? Yes

Was evidence found of WMDs? Yes

Did he have as Iarge amounts of them? Who the hell knows. He had enough time to destroy or get rid of anything he may have had, so we’ll never know.

Is Iran running things in Iraq? A little bit. But that just illustrates the point that Islam and Ant-American thought rules over there, more so than a country’s borders. The Iranians just add fuel to the Anti-American sentiment among some Iraqis and are able to provide 107mm rockets to help.

And last but not least, the level of corruption over there is mind blowing. All most of them want to do is amass some power and, mostly, money so they can move to Dubai, the US or Europe and live a very comfortable life without having to worry about getting blown trying to buy some tomato’s.

The whole region and so called “religion” is nothing but turf wars life what the mafia and cartels do. Nothing but gangsters in I’ll fitting suits and pointy shoes.

So Bush put America, her brave soldiers, and the world in harms way over a freaking family squabble

Things look very different today because many of the gains that Bush/Cheney made in the region were dismantled by Obama/Biden.

We did not lose the war in either place, we lost the peace. We should have gone home immediately after the invasion and thrown the nation-building nonsense to the UN.

I suspect the decision to invade Iraq was Cheney's doing, and though colored by the neo-conservative 'white man's burden' globalism, it was a reasonable strategic maneuver designed to pressure on the Iranians. At the end of the Bush administration the Mullahs faced the prospect of geographic isolation, external military danger, economic pressure and a building popular revolt.

Say what you will about Cheney, popping that Shiite pimple would have quieted the situation in the Middle East.

But then came Obama.

Here’s the story which can be confirmed through research of reliable sources (which I had but don’t have at hand right now):

Although many signs should have alerted Bush to the dangers of UBL and the coming attack, after the 911 attack Bush started out on the right foot by sending troops into Afghanistan after UBL upon sound intelligence that UBL was in Afghanistan. This is of course exactly what he should have done.

At some point they knew to a high degree of probability where UBL was hiding in the mountains. But Bush but the kibosh on getting UBL who got away and orchestrated bloodshed for almost another decade. Why did Bush say, “No”, to an advance into the mountains and caves where UBL almost certainly was? Bush was and always has been compromised.

In the meantime, what did Bush do? What he does best, takes his eye off the ball (UBL) and decides to avenge his dad and invade Iraq (the WMD thing was a ruse and lie - only a phony excuse in invade Iraq and get Sadaam). The story inside the White House was that Bush was absolutely determined to invade Iraq and now was probably emboldened and warmed up by the justified Afghan invasion.

The story in the WH was that Bush demanded an invasion of Iraq but his advisors said they had to have a reason. Bush basically told them to find one and set a deadline. Iraq was nothing than Bush’s confusing family loyalty with his job as U.S. President. The mob has the same confusion.

While the initial Afghan invasion was just and could have quickly accomplished the UBL mission, the Iraq invasion was absolutely convoluted, unjust, and a disaster.

At first I was for Bush, but I soon came to realize Bush, who greased the skids for his friend Obama, was a disaster. Only Trump brought this B.S. to a screeching halt.

Good point...And even that boozy Trotskyite Hitchens was able to figure out that fascism, where ever it exists, needs eradicating. I think Hitch was one of the first to use the term "islamofascism".

Saddam convinced the world he was trying to expand his WMD arsenal, and that got the bastard fascist hanged.

It is the same enemy the West has been dealing with for 13 centuries: Islam. As Americans we are use to giving all religions equal respect and Islam does not deserve it.

Iraq could have also been a peaceful, democratic country, if it was full of Germans or Japanese.

No there aren’t any saints in that region but think of a Middle East if Saddam had developed a nuke.

I’d be more worried if the Iranians had a nuke than Saddam.

Saddam was a pimp.

I absolutely agree with you on Trump, and back when he was in office, I was four-square behind W. I loved him; I identified with him. It was projection I guess. It’s a bitter pill looking back at the self-perpetuating police apparatus that he set up—without any provision for dismantling it after the threat had subsided. It was his gift to Obama, who in turn cultivated it and transformed into a full blown domestic surveillance network of the dem party. W ushered in the police state.

I had heard we failed to get Bin Laden because certain tribes switched sides, or were merely bribed, to allow him to pass during the siege at Tora Bora. I’ve always thought that the CIA’s incapacity to understand tribal politics was the cause.

I still can’t accept the theory that W invaded Iraq in order to avenge his old man. It’s an obvious and embarrassing a connection. I would think that he would have bent over backwards not to get involved with them. There must have been a strategic plan over-riding that reluctance, and the push behind it would have come from Cheney’s corner of the administration. I noticed that W and Dick seem to have had a falling out at the end of W’s term and assumed it was over Iraq. Anyway, that’s how I construed it.

If you can ever find that research Id like to see it

research

I just used Google but was careful to use reliable sources (I often will save the subject but couldn't find this one). You can do the same.

Bush is a compromised guy.

Simple-very. Just give the middle east to the Chicoms. Let them deal with all the terrorists.
