It's the same old song. The Democrats want to talk only about guns. We have a problem is cities run by Democrats, and blaming guns is rather disingenuous. This is a shocking report by Sharyl Attkisson:
For the first time since the mid-1990's, it is estimated there were over 20,000 criminal homicides in the U.S. 2020. That's according to an opinion article in The Hill.
Metropolitan and urban areas reportedly experienced the sharpest homicide spikes in 2020.
New York City experienced a 45% increase in homicides and a 97% increase in shootings, says The Hill article.
Chicago saw 55% spikes in homicides and shootings, according to the article, and the homicide rate in Los Angeles jumped 38% with shootings up almost 40%.

So what's going on in these cities run by Democrats? I don't have all the answers, but I see a common thread.
First, these are the places where irresponsible Democrat leaders have preached the "defund the police" canard.
Second, we saw lots of burning and looting in these cities, and not much happened to those burning or destroying property.

The Democrat’s push to disarm America has nothing to do with reducing violence and crime. It is for much more draconian and sinister reasons.

Don’t blame people who have the guns. How many shooters were legal to own a firearm. How about the dems take some of the blame for locking people in there homes for as long as they can. And scaring them.
The rise in crime is the result of failed and failing left wing Africanization
Funnily enough the rioters of BLM/Antifa tried to bring their act to Detroit. Locals told them they were not welcome before much damage could be done, and were able to make the unwelcome stick.
Probably the same dynamic as Newark NJ; we can’t chase out the last producers that even still come here...
