The Left's Idea of a Happy Future
American Thinker ^ | 10 Apr, 2021 | Jeffrey Folks

Liberals are fond of predicting the future, and their predictions, which are always dire, then become the pretext for more government. Otherwise, they say, we'll all starve, a class war will break out, or the Earth will come to an end.

Liberals are wrong about the future because their theories are based on ideology, not on the facts. Unlike conservatives, whose ideas are grounded on prudence and a clear view of human nature, liberals really have no conception of what drives human beings: their thinking is built on a handful of fixed ideas that can be traced to a number of shallow-minded philosophers including Rousseau, Malthus, Marx, Dewey, and Gore. What all of these thinkers have in common is the misconception that a centralized, planned economy can transform society into a utopia.

In every case, they've been wrong. The Earth's population did not starve (Malthus); capitalism was not replaced with a socialist utopia (Marx); the earth has not been consumed by storm, drought, and rising seas (Gore).

Collectivist ideology has produced poverty, starvation, enslavement, and mass murder. The Soviet Union sent at least 18 million to the gulags, and few returned from the worst of these camps. Stalin practiced a crude form of authoritarian rule based on Marxist ideology. He believed that, given supreme power, the State (in the person of Stalin himself) could transform a backward and inefficient economy into a world leader. The key to this process was a ruthless and inhuman exercise of power.

As Richard Pipes and others have stressed, Stalin was not a highly intelligent or subtle human being, but he did have one quality that distinguished him from others: the willingness to employ unlimited cruelty in the service of an idea.

From the article: It is terrifying to think that America may become the ally of Russia and Communist China in the service of global tyranny — and that a majority of Americans may have voted in favor of their own enslavement.

Uh, no they didn't. It is clear that it was fraud that voted for this.

The left’s wrong base assumption is in the nature of man.

They claim the inherent goodness of man where the reason people go bad is outside influences instead of internal moral problems. Fix society, and you’ll fix man.

Problem is, you have to fix the man, individually on a person by person basis, before society is fixed. Nothing else will work because external control, by law and thereby government, cannot produce the internal control in a person to be a better person and not do wrong.

Only the Jesus they reject can do that.

Which is why plutonium plant workers were issued paper uniforms and no gloves to handle and clean the plutonium production areas.

Interviewed survivors all said even knowing what they do now, they would still do the same job in the same way with the same equipment if asked by the Motherland.

Problem is, you have to fix the man, individually on a person by person basis, before society is fixed.

That takes a lot of work, first to identify the problem and then to come up with solutions. People who lean left believe that one-size-fits-all can fix everything. They don't want to have to analyze individual's problems; they don't even want to have to analyze each of society's problems separately. They just want a simplistic "solution" that will magically fix everything and create utopia.

That’s true. But it is clear that the fraud won, in the sense of grabbing the power, and that the rest of us are now too intimidated to do anything about it or even protest it.

I don’t think so many buy-in to the rat line as just don’t care or simply want more free chit. They are unmotivated and without goals, hopes or dreams. It is hard to imagine anyone being that way isn’t it? Many are the leavings of failed humans who want to be taken care of. They have t be taken care of to survive but they are just a burden to the rest of us. The dragging dregs of society.

They are the aimless people who drive by on the highway all day long with no place important to go. I wonder what we are supposed to do with failed people and why there are so many of them? We have been compelled to take care of them one way or another but it only encourages them to become more.

I don’t think that Al Gore is bright enough to be called a “philosopher” in any sense. He is merely an opportunistic huckster.
