Joe Biden is coming for the suburbs
American Thinker ^ | 8 Apr, 2021 | Monica Showalter

Biden's $2.3-trillion infrastructure package is a Trojan horse for a federal takeover of local zoning. If it passes, expect lots of cheap apartments going up in suburbs zoned for single-family homes. Don't think it's not about turning red counties blue.

President Trump tried to make a big deal about Joe Biden's plan to federally mandate cheap apartments with low-income residents into suburban single-family zones. The claim was that it would achieve "equality." The unstated plan was "more Democrat voters."

Trump warned of it as a scheme to end the suburbs, and it turns out he was right. Biden's $3.2-trillion infrastructure plan sneaks that leftist dream scheme into its thousands of pages of legislation, instead of letting the bad idea die on its own through a true congressional vote.

The New York Post warned in 2020 that the whole scheme is "disastrous."

Biden and the equality warriors are using accusations of racism to accomplish something different. Their message is: You worked and saved to move to the suburbs, but you can't have that way of life unless everyone else can, too.

The wisdom of tightly packing them in in the Age of COVID is quite an idiocy, but as the summer of 2020 riots demonstrated, COVID precautions are unimportant when the issue is "racism," which this Biden federal takeover of housing zonings was supposed to cure.

It is Ghettoization. The democRATs do not like happy, successful people. It is not a race thing. It is a blight vs. prosperity thing.

It’ll be a long time before this crap gets to me. By that time I’ll be in a better place.

Has Joe Biden ever apologized for using gentrification to oust black people from their homes?

Joe Biden said America’s suburbs are ‘by and large integrated’. That’s not totally true.

https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/elections/2020/10/01/joe-biden-suburbs-integrated-fact-check/5888043002/

Trump charged that if Biden “ever got to run this country … our suburbs would be gone. And you would see problems like you’ve never seen before.”

Biden fired back, saying, “I was raised in the suburbs. This is not 1950. All these dog whistles and racism don’t work anymore. Suburbs are by and large integrated. There’s many people today driving their kids to soccer practice … Black and white and Hispanic in the same car as there have been any time in the past.”

For about 20 years I lived in a rather upscale suburb of Boston. Certainly not the richest town but very far from being the poorest. Mind you *I* have never been rich but many of the others in town were.

A few years before I sold my place a proposal for some "affordable housing" units was made for a bit of open land near me. Well, wouldn't you know it...the residents went ballistic! "Think of the children!" they cried. "The traffic would be dangerous!" was another cry. Those damn Range Rover driving "progressives" were having none of it!

Also...another matter concerning the elite of Boston and vicinity...anyone with some free time should google "Commonwealth Day School". Long story short:the school, mainly black kids, proposed to move their facilities to an area populated largely by the elite of Harvard and MIT. Those elitists were outraged by the proposal. Many well know people, including Julia Child and Laurence Tribe, signed a petition to block the move.

Fascinating...and nauseating...stuff!

DemonicRats creating legislation.

There are not enough riots in the suburbs! Why don’t we have more riots in the suburbs?
Our goons can not afford to live there Sir; and public transportation is too slow and inefficient to mobilize them in suburban locations.
How can we locate rent a mobs in the suburbs?

Joe Biden's plan to federally mandate cheap apartments with low-income residents into suburban single-family zones.

I fail to see why a Sovereign State can't just tell the Feds to piss off?? With that being said, if a State, County or City is FORCED to do this by the Feds, the Supreme Court in the KELO Decision has Already GRANTED these ENTITIES the ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO SEIZE PRIVATE PROPERTY for Public Use. Every State that is a victim of this edict needs to use the KELO Decision to SEIZE the Property of FEDERAL EMPLOYEE's to use for Low Income Housing

I read another article yesterday that said this was tied to federal money.

...mandate a federal takeover for local zoning for any district that takes the proffered federal money, coming off such zones' already paid taxes.

Rich communities, like where Hillary Clinton lives, will simply eschew the federal money to keep out Section 8 apartments in their area.

There are not enough riots in the suburbs!

They tried this in the suburbs where I live. Cops heard carloads were coming in to attack local businesses, riot and loot the local mall.

I was coming home from the vet - and noticed the three freeway exits leading into my community were all blocked off with police cars - didn't know why the time.

Found out later they stopped the rioters and looters in their tracks and arrested a few who arrived with stolen property from previous looting.

Cops here aren't defunded or looked upon as Nazis.

Tell you County Commissioners NOT to accept Federal Funds for anything, so they don’t have a say in your policies.

I'd like to see them try that in my suburb-like neighborhood in San Diego, which is now majority Asian-American. What are they going to do, kick out some Asian-Americans and their kids to achieve racial balance?

Asians voted ≈ 73% for Biden.

So, they'll be getting what they voted for.

Carter, Clinton, and Obama all promoted Section 8 housing in the suburbs. Their attempts mostly failed, as the suburban communities fought them in the courts. Biden will have more money than his Democratic predecessors. However, if you want to drive the suburbanites who voted for Biden because of Trump’s “mean tweets” into the GOP’s hands, moving low income people into the suburbs is just the ticket.

I did not know that and would’ve expected better (that they’d have voted Trump).
