It is not ideologically consistent to dictate the military power of other sovereign nations. Once we let the Russians have the bomb in 1949, and then the Chinese by 1960, the cat is way out of the bag.

The thought of what North Korea might do with their bombs, does not give us the right to disarm them. If you believe that, then you believe the US government has the same right to confiscate our guns.

Your position is unsustainable. Particularly in the area of the massive proliferation threat they will become (have been becoming) in the Middle East or with non-state terrorist actors. It is a nightmare and to let it alone or throw up our hands is a most foolish course to embark upon.
