imardmd1 in Post #39: So why do you think that Biblical righteousness (as compared to self-righteousness which is a "woke" attitude) would not be the prime target of those who wish to cancel out the basis of traditional American laws and acceptable behavior?
(Meaning that: (a) Biblical righteousness = an attribute if the God of the Bible,a character quality that never leads to mistakes; the opposite of sinfulness
Going forward:
(b) self-righteousness = a state thought to be achieved by a personal ability to perform beneficial works apart from guidance by the Holy Spirit; a Satanic estimate of one's own goodness
(c) traditional Americanism = basis of ideally implemented social regulation that was originally intended to emulate Christian principle as enumerated in the founding dcuments of the Unites States of America
(d) cancel culture = override and erase the standards and commonly accepted general practices of a particular society, leading to anarchy
wita in Post 44: I only read sentence two five times and I’m still not sure I understand your question.
Nevertheless, I absolutely think Biblical righteousness IS the prime target.
imardmd1: I hope that the above clarification of Sentence 2 of my Post #39 satisfies your confusion as to what I suggested in Sentence 2 of my earlier Post #19. Apparently, you were first contrary to what I proposed, but in this last response it seems that you are now in agreement with it.
This current attitude of Satanic Marxism gained traction through activity of our "Woke" class, whose false ideation was inculcated in the disciples of socialistic-minded university and seminary professors, then impressed by those college-trained educators on the easily-persuaded callow youth in public and private schools and church pulpits, then refortified when the now-progressive-oriented young "adults" stepped through the degree-granting anti-Christian institutions.
This shows how that it is the very institutions that ought to have been providing the culture and tools of Biblical righteousness and morality typical of early Americans have been actually the first centers to fall to this Satanic suffusion of socialism and Marxist disorder.
Now we as a nation are suffering the probably incurable disease that is crucifying the culture of our Founders, shedding real blood and killing real people. And its transmission is principally through the "social gospel" promoted from secular universities as well as from the pulpits of our religious seminaries, whether Catholic or Reformed/Protestant denominations.
Their bent, hidden to the common view in the 19th and early 20th Centuries, is now open and recognized by everyone in the 21st. And they are almost wholly in tune with the other non-religious "progressive" (another word for "communistic") anti-American anti-tradition fifth-column traitors, irrepessibly and irresponsibly rioting everywhere.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is a prime example of this statement. Hilary was raised in a progressive local assembly of the United Methodist Church, whose Youth Minister, Don Jones. led her down the path of socialism: From From Park Ridge to Washington: The youth minister who mentored Hillary Clinton (click here) (Wikipedia lies on this, misattributing a conservative high school teacher on her political leanings):
"Don opened up a new world to me," Clinton said in 2009, the year he died, "and helped guide me on a spiritual, social and political journey of over 40 years."Another is Christopher "Chris" Coons, who eventually wound up with Joe Biden's Delaware Senate seat. He has been long-claimed a buddy of Joe Biden (Longtime Biden ally Sen. Chris Coons says former vice president is guided by faith).
Actually, Coons was first active in the Republican politics of the election, as a high-schooler and early college helping to elect the eminent conservatives Ronald Reagan and Bill Roth. But in college whatever influences he had convinced him to swing over to the Democrat side, and both before and on graduation became deeply involved in "social gospel" effort. He went to Yale Divinity School for studies in ethics, then a law degree from the Yale Law School. In all this and further ventures, it seems obvious that his leftist leanings became more and more ingrained, until now, when one might call him essentially Marxist in the causes and legislative efforts he supports.
As far as I am concerned, and looking at their records, I find it very difficult to believe that whatever "Christianity" they profess, I cannot see that it would be said that The Lord Jesus Christ could claim them as His Own, considering the legislation they stand for.
You could examine the backgrounds of many of the federal-level legislators, and find few that one would be able to point to as exemplary of serving the interests of improving God's estate on earth.
As to outstanding legislators putting Christ above all, you can make up your mind on them. I think there may be some in the Senate, and quite a few in the House, but you don't generally see this as reported to be their prime activity. That was not true a few years ago, AFIK.
I disagreed with the comment not the principle behind it. My premise “the world” in general would be hard pressed to recognize Biblical Righteousness. They are more familiar with character traits of principled moral men/women, which may have their beginning in the Bible but are practiced by many non-Christian’s of high moral character. All of which Communists, Socialists Leftists, Progressives, the woke, to include the Democrat party are in practice and principle against even to the point of active hatred.
Your definition of Self Righteousness is proof positive that in general even practicing Christian’s might have difficulty recognizing your definition of Biblical Righteousness. Case in point the generous number in millions, of Self Righteous individuals who were unable to deal with President Donald John Trump’s mote in their double dealing eyes.
One missing element in your 45 was parents. There is hope that by the time ones offspring reach University age they are sufficiently trained (as in, “train up a child”...) to be able to avoid their peers and professors, attempts to root out their Christian foundation. I am sure there is some degree of success in the parental world. All said, not in a spirit of argument but in discussion.
