I saw something somewhere, a sort of meme, maybe a meme.. that said to the effect, “Wouldn’t it be great if doctors wore on their coats, patches from their drug sponsors?”
I was once at my felon doc, and the walls were thin. He had a nice office before he was convicted, his “new” office was this hole in the wall next to a bail bondsman, which I thought was ironic. Anyway, he was talking to the sales rep next door and I could hear the entire conversation. Paxil had just been taken off the market and was now generic. So they were talking about the “new” Paxil continued release?
I take Paxil for scoliosis and back pain. Works well. Anyway he comes in and says.. “Hey do you want to switch to Paxil CR?”
I said “No, I heard your conversation with the drug lady.”
I’ve had 2 doctors give me a hard time about taking Paxil off label. And I respond by saying.. “If you won’t prescribe if off label, I can be depressed and have anxiety if you want.”
