He is right, in a sense, even though he is wrong. Why didn’t we get shutdowns with H1N1 or other severe flu seasons? It is actually a fair question. But, he should still be a bit better informed.

The CDC didn’t count H1N1 deaths. They stoped counting in 2009 and then went to ESTIMATING in 2009 and 2010. After that they just called it “flu”. They settled on the middle number between high and low wildassedguess.
And they most certainly NEVER “counted” asymptomatic cases.
