A Black Lives Matter protester who spent time at CHOP is now charged with hate crimes against Asian-American women.

Prominent activists and organizers in the BLM movement told KOMO News they remember Christopher Hamner, but not for his contributions. One remembers his “creepy stares,” and another said his actions seemed “to come out of left field.”

Seattle police arrested Hamner last month for two separate incidents of alleged anti-Asian hate attacks. Pamela Cole said Hamner threatened her and her young children when they tried to drive past him.

“He just opens his door and starts yelling at me. ‘F’ you, you Asian ‘B’. ‘F’ you kind of thing,” Cole said. “And then he pulls in the parking lot and comes charging at us."

Hamner made similar anti-Asian hate threats to two other women just days later, according to investigators.

Yet last summer, Hamner was often seen protesting on behalf of Black Lives Matter. On his social media accounts, Hamner posted videos of himself demonstrating at CHOP, the six-block, police-free zone held for a time by BLM and antifa activists.
