This is what I call the "Fork Insult" -- after the forking move in chess.

Make a broad-brush statement against ideological enemies, one which discredits then (emotionally) in the ear of the hearer in advance, and which is demonstrably untrue.

If they ignore it in the interest of peace, not feeding the troll, the narrative against them is advanced ("silence gives consent").

If they address it, it clutters up the thread, AND allows the troll to say "I didn't mean you, what does it imply that you came out of the woodwork to reply so strongly?

You know, like if I started calling jab fanatics pedophiles, in league with so many kiddy-diddlers associated with high places in DC.
