Does small hands Rubio know about this?

"a quantum foam of subatomic particles popping in and out of existence." All fun 'n games until macro sized things start popping out of the foam and into existence.

That’s okay. Most of them don’t really understand it either.

I can hear them now - “So we need a lot more money.”
Well, they are celebrating way early. They say they have analyzed less than 6% of the data, yet they are sort of claiming victory. (they use a lot of “maybe” words in this article)
And this is cryptic, to say the least: “...subatomic particles popping in and out of existence ...”
Standing by for follow-on stories.
To: Red Badger
It a nutshell, how does this benefit mankind? Or is basically wasted science? Knowledge is cool and all, but that looks like a hundred million dollar project or more.

Excellent work...
Real fundamental physics...
A rarity (excluding the finding of the 1964-predicted Higgs Boson in 2012) in the field of particle physics these past 50-60 years...

“This is strong evidence that the muon is sensitive to something that is not in our best theory.”
Or, it is strong evidence of errors in the best theories - something expressed wrong as opposed to something not included in the standard model (which contains mathematical assumptions, some of which are only theoretical and not confirmed yet by empirical evidence).

Probably decades at a minimum and a century or more before this has any practical earthly application that can use the science of Muons as it is now understood.
