With little over a week left on the job, outgoing CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin is raising the curtain on the network’s male-dominated executive staff and how she had to “fight for women’s stories.”
“The most influential anchors on our network, the highest-paid, are men. My bosses, my executives, are men. The person who oversees CNN Dayside is a man, and my executive producer for 10 years is a man. So I’ve been surrounded by a lot of men,” Baldwin, 41, said on the Ms. Magazine podcast Monday.

When I was a kid I used to watch these news programs, especially on Sunday. The guests were sober men, using carefully measured language, aware of the impact of their words.
Now, the guests are usually shrill women, ranting men, even some of the hated white class. And they appear to be trashy and ignorant.
They don’t just need more women at CNN—they need more fat, ugly, and stupid ones.
I think most of us see how advertising portrays men as inept, weak and inefficient. The mindset of this newsreader is probably prevalent in that field, too.
So what else has changed since you were a barfly in your 20's?
