The encrypted messaging app Telegram has raised over $1 billion by selling bonds to foreign investors, its Russia-born founder Pavel Durov said Tuesday.
Durov, 36, wrote on his Telegram channel that the bonds were sold to “some of the largest and most knowledgeable investors from all over the world”. He added that this will allow Telegram to grow “while sticking to its values and remaining independent”.
Durov said the funds will fuel the app’s monetisation strategy that was outlined in December, according to which the platform will launch paid services this year.

Telegram is awesome. People have been fleeing to get there in droves.

Telegram is not secure at all. Based out of Saudi Arabia.
I'm not an instant message kind of guy though. Before I retired, Verizon made me use IM which kind of turned me off to the whole concept. The whole, "drop what you are doing and talk to me but, I don't really want to talk to you" kind of thing. How rude!
Although, President Trump’s Save America PAC statements have been posted on the Gab account set aside for him, Telegram is the most active MAGA universe right now.
Parler doesn’t seem to be as relevant, except for the individual accts by some noted voices like Mark Levin, etc.
I have Telegram’s President Trump’s Loyalists app pinned to my Microsoft Edge browser and receive alerts throughout the day—and a little bit at night. Highly recommended.

I just went to their site and they claim to be based in Dubai, UAE. They look pretty good for encrypted group chat and posts. I currently use Protonmail.com for encrypted, but they don't provide group chats for free.
