1. It's the All-Star game.....it lasts 2, maybe 3 days. You have some celebrity softball game nonsense and whoever actually watches that and cheers, I think you should do some serious introspection about your adoration of a bunch of phony celebrities who are 180 degrees opposed to how you live your life....liberals don't watch sports or attend sporting events.
Then you have the Home Run Derby....Next day is the game....Next day everyone goes home.
2. Because of Covid there isn't going to be that many folks in the stands anyway. And because Georgia actually is a Conservative state, a lot of folks weren't going to go near the place, anyway.
3. As for 'minority owned businesses' I wonder if Ortiz can detail which ones. He obviously doesn't know much about that area and how pricey it is. When Ortiz mentions 'minority owned businesses' is he talking about the black guys selling bootleg jerseys and hats? The ones that the MLB pays off-duty cops to take their stuff and run them off and away from the stadium, because they're cutting into the teams and leagues profits on sales? Those guys.
4. So Ortiz is saying that in the 2-3 day event, the amount of money being generated is around $33,000,000 a day. Somehow I'm not seeing that. With decreased attendance and attention paid to it, there is no EFFIN' way that the All-Star game brings in that much money. And now that the MLB did this, I'm betting it'll be even worse.
As I stated earlier, liberals, Leftists, ANTIFA, BLM, progressives, socialists, hipsters, for the most part, DO NOT attend sporting events.
Hotlanta is heavily black, so reap it.
I’m waiting for MLB to order the Atlanta Braves to be moved to another state because of the Georgia legislature wanting to insure that there is no or less voter fraud.
I guess tax deals for stadiums should go on the block if MLB is gonna get political?
Devil Announces Change of Fiddle Contest Location
The economic damage to MLB itself will be 20 times greater. The big decline in viewership, ratings, merchandise purchases and attendance will cost MLB billions and may lead to some team bankruptcies.
Seems like breaking a contract would have consequences.
Whoever the big advertisers are for the all-star game are behind the move. They need to be boycotted.
Forget the amount of money involved. It is the principle that matters. MLB, Delta Airlines and other corporations want election fraud. (By the way, the GA State Senate caved on the bill to eliminate Delta’s tax break. Delta gets to keep it tax advantage, while other business have to pay taxes. Spineless RINOs pussied out again.) Our elected officials do nothing. Only you have the power to do something. That is boycott. Don’t ever watch another MLB game. Don’t buy any MLB authorized products. Don’t fly Delta. Don’t buy any Coke product - and their are lots of them - just not sugared water.
Prolly most of those minority businesses in Atlanta vote DemoRat. Since their fellow DemoRat thugs in Fulton Co. stole the elections and are ok with that well queue up the violins but ‘Quite frankly Atlanta, we don’t give a damn’. Deceitful actions have consequences.
And with luck, a boycott of MLB will cost $10 Billion to MLB
Good points. The 100 million dollar figure is ridiculous. I don’t believe it for a second.
The Georgia Legislature should now pass a bill prohibiting MLB or any of its members or affilliates from using any facility in Georgia that received any public funding.
