The High Fat Diet was 60% fat. The only fat that seemed a problem was Saturated Fat. Note this is not necessarily a low carb diet with the remaining 40% of carbs to protein not noted in my reading.

The supplemental Excel tables at the bottom are very detailed down to the metabolites affected and even the specific fatty acids.

It would seem cutting out some fatty acid components would reprogram the cancer in scope. Also, possibly losing weight would rectify the abnormal metabolism. Finally, it seems a key issue found was with very low methyl metabolism. This latter issue might be addressed by supplementing with methylation products, with Betaine Anhydrous (trimethylglycine) being a cheap, generally harmless provider of three methyl groups per molecule.

From just one of the supplemental tables:

This one shows the metabolic pathways influenced, either sped up or slowed down.

We will all die of some form of cancer someday. Lung, brain. Rectall, skin, liver or prostrate. Most of these can be kicked down the road so we did of something else first

Nobody gets out alive. It’s not how you die that matters; it’s how you lived

...are linked with increased risk of prostate cancer progression and mortality,...

So this is not a report on how HFD might increase4 the risk of prostate cancer in general population - just in those who have existing prostate cancer.

Too bad ALL men over 50 can have a few "atypical" cells in the prostate.

increased consumption of saturated fat and obesity are linked with increased risk of prostate cancer progression

So first of all they need to control the study better to figure out if it is saturated fat -or- obesity -or- both. Or else as you were explaining if they narrowed it down to 60% saturated fat diets then this was a poorly written summary.

I don't know how one can consume a consistent diet of 60% saturated fats unless ordered to by scientists. And as you said, the effects could be neutralized by dietary modifications.

I am on a low carb diet for the last 8 or 10 weeks, but I also don't eat a lot of saturated fats. And I dropped about 20 lbs of "tire" which was annoying me. I wasn't obese but I did add some weight and am taller than average. Next month I will switch it up and add in more fruits because I love summer fruits. Mostly went on the low carb diet to get my summer swimsuit body back :-)

Men

Ignore all prostate advice except this one

You need to get rid of your sperm every 48 to 72 hours

Prostate problems are caused by sperm just sitting around and getting old and your body not having anything to do down there

I’m not going to get into how to get rid of them ; but you need to get rid of them

I can say numerous studies over decades to prove this but I won’t

A good compilation of these studies are in the “undo it” book by Dean Ornish MD

Well, given that I have been on a high fat diet for 8 years now, I will let you know if this is actually an issue. I don’t think so. A year and a half ago I was checked every possible way and nothing seemed wrong. So in 3 years I will do it again. So far, high fat means a thinner healthier me.

Sounds like olive oil, avocado oil and coconut oil are not on the list of saturated fats.

Does this problem with saturate fats extend to grass fed ghee and grass fed butter?

High fat does not equal obesity. In fact if you are really on a high fat and correspondingly low carb diet, pulling off obesity is quite a feat, since your body just doesn’t work that way.
