There's no line too high for Gonzaga bettors.
Even though the Bulldogs were 14-point favorites at BetMGM, the largest spread for a national semifinal game in at least 25 years, it's another round of bettors loading up on Gonzaga.
Of all the money bet on the Gonzaga-UCLA game at BetMGM, 79 percent is on Gonzaga laying a huge number.
That pattern follows the first four rounds of the NCAA tournament. Bettors haven't lost on Gonzaga yet.
Despite having the largest spread in each of the first four rounds, Gonzaga has covered the spread in each of their four tournament games. In three of the games, the cover was never in doubt.
Gonzaga has been the story of the tournament. They got through the season undefeated and are two wins from being the first undefeated champion in 45 years.
The Bulldogs' dominance has been impressive. UCLA is an 11 seed but is coming off wins against Alabama and Michigan, the top two seeds in the East region. BetMGM opened the line for the UCLA game at 13.5 and it was quickly bet up to 14.

But, Gonzaga will be too much for UCLA to handle...
I did watch some highlights of NCAA women's final four games last night...Arizona beat UConn to get to the championship game...UConn was expected to beat Arizona easily...
Interesting how the west of mississippi teams are doing this Post Season.
Exactly.
My dad is a big-time Zags fan. He didn’t expect them to get past USC...but they did. He was quite pleased. For UCLA, he’s not sure. He thinks they’re a “weird-looking” team (mostly because of their hair, of all things). He says the Bruins tend to pay “sloppy”, but they’ve beaten teams they should not have been able to beat.
IF the Zags get past tonight, there’s a chance they’ll be facing Baylor. They were supposed to play each other 3 times this season, but all 3 times, it was cancelled due to the ‘rona. It’s a matchup that many have wanted to see all year.
Concerning Gonzaga, one guy said “It’s like watching an NBA team playing in college uniforms”.
We’ll see.
This is their year. A Gonzaga win would help the other WCC teams attract better players .
It’s all a crap shoot.
True story:
One of my college roommates started an NCAA Tournament Pool in 1986. All but four teams were chosen at $5 each and he was desperate to get the remaining four teams bought before our school recessed for Spring Break. I’m not a gambler but he was desperate so I gave him $20 to cover the 4 remaining teams (Duke, Kansas, LSU, Louisville). Came back a week later and had an envelope with $320 on my desk. That was a good chunk of change for a college in d in 1986.
It’d be stupid to vote against Ganzaga in today’s game. Unless you want to gamble that UCLA can pull off an epic upset. They can’t.
Roger Powell, Asst. Coach for Gonzaga is from my hometown of Joliet, IL.
Not surprised...UCLA plays scrappy but Michigan missed their last 8 shots all of which would have given them the lead...Gonzaga may not miss 8 shots in a half
OVER 22 MILLION ‘brackets’ were turned in.
ALL were broken by end of first round...
It was as if Michigan threw the game.
First of all these are kids in anything can happen on any day
Second Baylor is looking pretty good right now and their game
Third UCLA had a pretty impressive showing against number one Michigan last week and I expect them to be pretty tough today
But this is why sports or decided on the court or on the field
that’s when the talking stops and the game begins
One thing I will give Gonzaga is they’ve gotten tantalizingly close to a championship and I’ve never done it so I think they’re hungry
My uncle was a freshman going to sophomore when STockton got drafted. Big time fan. Even when Tom Lloyd was coach and as Mark Few who built that program, the students back then knew Lloyd didnt care about the program.
Actually my uncle met Stockton at campus and as I recollect, he just came back from the US Olympic basketball tryouts..which rejected Barkley, Karl Malone and Stockton.
Remember, the 1st round has half the total games and the seeding means there are very few competitive games in the 1st round. Beyond matchups for 9-8 and 10-7 there aren’t usually many upsets. The seeding is very, very good.
I’m not taking any chances...
Haven’t, & will not, watch any games played without masks...
Looks like Catholics vs Baptists Final
Gonzaga is my home team. Go Zags. Should I watch?
It’s on at the same time PGA golf is, my fave sport and only one I watch.
Agreed knowing the winner gets the Zags might have been on their mind
Gonzaga?
Why would you bet on cheese?
oh, wait, not gorgonzola.
My bad.
Never mind.
It's clearly Brie Time, baby!
Shouldn’t this March Madness thing be over, now that it’s April?
