First - its not a Mass. It’s the only day of the year when Mass is not offered. Second, although I don’t think its part of the service anymore, in the 1970s the liturgy still included prayer for the unjustly imprisoned. In the early 70s I went to Good Friday Mass with a man who had escaped from prison and had been imprisoned for giving flowers to Nancy Fonda in Canada when he was in uniform. He was on one side and a police officer with a gun was on the other side. I’ll never forget it. So these people were in a sense unlawfully imprisoned. If I had been there I would hope that I would have stayed.

The Good Friday Liturgy is not a consecration of the Eucharist but a Liturgy of the Passion of Jesus.
That said, its atrocious that the London police did that.
From the earliest days, Good Friday has been kept as a day on which we do not celebrate Mass. The Eucharist that is received on Good Friday is consecrated a day earlier at the Holy Thursday liturgy.

It’s not the fact that masks cannot stop transmission of a virus or the fact that mask mandates have done nothing to stop the spread of the virus that is the horror with widespread masking of healthy people, it’s that people, even normaly good, decent people (including cops) who hide their identity behind a dehumanizing mask are capable of doing inhumane things to other people ... and there are many such dehumanized, identity-hidden ordinarily good people who cheer on the inhumanity ... for a “good reason” of course!
In Dallas, the priest will call the cops to throw someone out of Mass. In London, they’ve removed the middle man.
