I got such a kick out of the episode where they brought Tom back for a part as the keeper of the Museum pidtures. And yes he was an incredible actor. His voice was his greatest asset, the way he controlled intonations to emphaisze without going over the top yelling.
The PC sh!te has so damaged the franchise that I doubt Christopher could revive it now. Maybe if they went video with David Tenant again ... and of course Rose by any other name.
I’ve been a Whovian since 1978, and mostly stick with the classic Doctors (especially since I was a friend of Pertwee for 14 years), But I don’t mind the Doctors of the current era except for her. She is not a doctor. I don’t like the soap opera and political correctness of the modern show though.
I need to get more into the Big Finish stuff. I remember long ago when they first got started and were at LA’s Gallifrey One cons promoting the launching of audio dramas. It seemed impossible for them to succeed but they certainly did. I’m impressed with the other things they do including Dark Shadows and The Prisoner.

Did the scarf drag the floor? I thought his waist coat wa the perfect garment for a man 900 years old, wearing a Rugby scarf and pocketing Jelly Babies in a crumple white bag.
I thought he only did one season because he hated the role. I liked him in it, and also liked Tennet and Smith. After that, it became unwatchable.
Anyway, Tom Baker will always be my Doctor 💖
When my son gave me the Christmas gift, he told me there were some episodes that had to come from an overseas vendor since they were no longer available in the US or UK!
My son and I watched the Doctor while he was growing up. His favorite companiion was of course Lela, but he though Romana was beautiful. Baker married that gal ...

K9 could drive the Tardis. I recall one episode where The Doctor actually purchase Jelly Babies in London. Made The Brigadier wait while he went into a sweets shop for them.
I’ve only just finished the entire Doc Martin Series and the entire Lovejoy Mysteries series. Time to get back to The Doctor. I’ll start with the ‘death’ of Pertwee transition to Tom Baker. That episode was so cheezy but highlighted the style of Baker.
captain jack was a trojan horse for woke culture...he was a very SJW character. I bet if you look at who was still in the writers room at the end of the series you would find the person who created that character. any time jack was used as a main character you got a woke story point introduced to the show.
I wonder now how much say Eccleston had in the direction of the show. I wonder, did he endorse the nod to degeneracy? Some of the same writers were working the Sherlock Holmes series, one even wrote himself into the cast as the elder brother to Sherlock, Moorcroft. The guy is a good actor but ...
Biggest advantage for the modern Doctors over the classic Doctors was/is in the fabulous sidekicks in the modern versions...

one big problem in entertainment is that you have one or two real good writers for a series or a movie and then half a dozen that have there job only becouse of family connections. nepotism ... when the movie that is made is real bad story wise or production issues sabotage it look at who those working on it are related too. Invariably the production has to many hired by heightism as part of the deal for getting the movie or tv show made that are not talented....I have an aunt who has been in movies and tv as an extra becouse of this. her nephew is the one who is the desired person for the movie or tv show and he has used it to get family members jobs as extras . Some directors or actors will get family members into productions they are not even involved in as writers and production assistants.
I retain a crush on Dr. River Song. She and my first wife could pass for twins. There was a series spin off with Sara Jane Smith. I wish that could have run longer, I liked Sara Jane . Rose then Amy are my favorites inthe modern era.
