I find myself in partial agreement with the China position on this issue. China certainly was involved in the escape (or release) of this virus into the world, however, that is not to say it actually originated in Wuhan.

In fact, there is significant evidence (previously discussed in Free Republic) that the the earliest origins were actually in the US.
