After releasing PeerTube v3 in early January, a new main version on popular free YouTube alternative is now available. PeerTube 3.1 comes with plenty of improvements and new features.
PeerTube is a piece of software that enables anyone to run their own tube site (like YouTube) very easily. All of the sites everyone runs can talk to each other, and people with accounts on one can interact with people on others. To put it short, it is a network of tube sites.
Probably the most important to note in the new version are the improved transcoding features. PeerTube use the FFmpeg program to transcode the videos you upload. Until now, transcoding rules were the same for every PeerTube instance: you couldn’t modify them. From v3.1, you can create transcoding profiles by installing plugins on instances. Instance administrators can select a transcoding profile adapted to their needs after installing a plugin.
PeerTube 3.1 also changes the way transcoding tasks are managed. Now administrators can give an higher priority to optimize jobs and can decrease priority of transcoding jobs depending on the amount of videos uploaded by the user in the last 7 days. This prevents one single user from blocking other people’s content uploads.
Regarding interface, the disappearance of the “most liked” category, in the left menu, is the most visible change. The new “trending” category 3 options for sorting videos were added:
Some elements in the Administration menu were modified. For example in the “users” tab, the “Create user” button is now on the left side to be more visible. Also administrators can now customize the value of video quota (total and daily) of each user.
You can find detailed information about all changes in the project’s changelog.
For those of you motivated to replace YouTube.
Good luck, Peer Tube, on your Maiden Voyage.
Batten your hatches and PREPARE for income missiles, smoke bombs and viruses released in your direction.
Don’t let ‘them’ sink your battleship, if you can prevent it. Ask Parler and Gab what I mean.
Counterfeit money printer for sale
Do you want to buy a machine that prints money? Well this is how much they cost and where to buy them. Money making machine is like any other printer. It prints both genuine and fake notes, depending on who is handling it. This is the same machine...
Yup. Sadly the left have todestroy everything they don’t like..
The other obstacle that upstart sites face is that the majority of folks are on YouTube because it’s established with millions of views an hour or whatever. And folks want to be “where the action is” already established, because 1 they like the attention, and 2 ther are just way more available videos to watch
It’s gonna b7e a very hard uphill battle, but kudos to those who attempt it, and Godspeed. May the good Lord protect them against the nastiness of the miserable left.
I think Trump has an advantage with his site and will do well right off the bat because he just has so many folks who like and followed hi. Already, that they will jump at the chance to be a part of his site.
I remember when youtube let “how to build a nuclear bomb” roll on.
Cool stuff... Kind of like the Zeronet concept.
From what it looks like this is a peer to peer network that runs under the table away from all the top layer control, indexing, and domain registration using a client and your local resources. The only way it can really be put in check is if your local net provider blocks it. After that it is node to node peer to peer.
Kind of like Zeronet and QTox messenger.
I watch YTube only via my Roku streamng device. Only because it allows me to put my feet up and relax in front of a big screen more than 6 feet away.
Until these alternatives are available on a streaming device they will never challenge YTube.
It’s like all the efforts of Linux supporters whinging on and on about how so much better it is than any Apple or M$ product. Yeah, so what? I dual-boot all of my computers with a M$ system and a Linux operating system. But, I use the Linux ones only when I’m playing around. Why? Because it is so darned difficult (comparatively) doing anything on a Linux vs M$.
Until the alternatives are ubiquitous, they will go no where. And, that is sad since we so desperately need something to challenge the poisonous monoculture that is the MSM.
That sounds like a very clever method just to get some communication going. Good for them. Local control will work better than national, which is too vulnerable to trends and triggers.
This is a business that is buying adspace on PeerTube?
Ugh! Hopefully not for long.
That might even be a government sponsored Trap Door.
Please let me know if you do this Ace, and what you think of it? Thank you for posting this, it could go somewhere. :)

We have been using the similar blockchain peer to peer network QTox messenger for several months now and find it to be fantastic. All data is very highly encrypted peer to peer through the network nodes.
Lol...
George Carlin has something to say about tubes!
