I’ve had scam calls asking for someone for example, named Erica.
When I say there’s no one here by that name, they then go on to say, “Well, maybe you can help me” and then go on with the scam looking for money.

I have my phone set to different ringtones for my favorites, my general contact list and my default ringtone for everything else.

I can tell just by the ring how badly I may want to answer my phone.

My favorites are family and a few very close friends. I will take the time to answer for them.

Everything else can wait.

As I said, I don't even answer the phone anymore.

I don't think my name is all that unusual or difficult, but a lot of people have trouble with it. So when I did answer, they would say 'May I speak to Mr. (manglesmyname)? I would simply say, Sorry, there's no one here by that name.' and hang up.
