My 87 yo father, who has severe arthritis, and my 86 yo mother who has dementia and stage 5 kidney disease, both got their 2nd Moderna shot last Friday (against my wishes). I stayed with them 3 nights but thankfully they seem to have had no reaction. My mom has thrown up twice in the last week (1x before the 2nd dose and 1x was 3 days after it) but I’m thinking now that may be a reaction to the 50mg zinc I started giving her in anticipation of the shot. I’m taking her off the zinc today, but also talking with her kidney Dr to confirm. Pray for the best results for you, but it looks like it is possible to survive it. So far. Lol.
I’m so glad your parents are doing OK. Mom is 87 and is mostly bedridden. She has an untreated spine nerve issue (can’t think of what it’s called) and C-DIFF that has resisted all antibiotic treatments. That alone makes her weak. The thing that set me off was when one of my sister’s posted a picture of her sitting in a chair on Easter with my sister’s daughter, granddaughter, and two young great grandchildren, Mom’s great-great grandchildren, around her. I know it’s not good to isolate the elderly completely from their families but her being around the really small children concerns me. Mom felt safe doing it because she “had the shot”. My baby sister that has already had COVID and the other sister will watch her closer for a while after the second shot. My middle sister lives with her and my baby sister lives in a camper in her yard.
I offered a prayer for them and you.
Please keep us posted:)
