I was really talking to anyone who is being held hostage by their kids attitudes about this. Or their kids holding their kids over their heads.

I am not meaning to upset anyone and I know I’m different. I’m a redhead and sometimes I wish more people had that red headed attitude.. “One does not piss a redhead off and expect to live.” 🤣

I guess my parenting is.. “Would I tolerate this at age 7, 12, or 16? No?? Then I won’t tolerate it now.

We just aren’t doing our kids any favors by letting them steamroll over us.

LOL, me too. I take crap for a while, longer than most redheads, but when it hits the fan it hits it.

It shows that the purpose of this virus is to separate and divide. Independent children who go to college where they know no one and then stay in that area unfortunately are not as well guided by their parents when maybe they should be. Indoctrination is successful and thinking for themselves via other avenues than conservatism produce kids like mine. They are successful and don’t think they need our views. Spouses also play an important part. Keeping peace is important because it keeps the lines of communication open whether we agree or not. We’ll get through this as this virus dissipates. My county has 32 active cases, theirs is not there yet. Prayer also works!

I have to admit my first reaction to reading of families in uproar over so-called vaccines is to thank God (again) that He didn’t “bless” us with children! We didn’t particularly want any, and an underlying rationale for me was thinking that all the shameful guff I gave my own parents post-puberty would certainly be paid back on me tenfold by any hypothetical next generation!

Things did get better between us, as soon as I moved out. (I was still 17, but well enough prepared to be independent, as those were different times.) But seriously, I would never have imagined “butting in” on any private medical decisions my parents made, nor even opining out loud. It was their business, not mine - their bodies, and all. It was difficult enough for us siblings to have to get involved in such related decision making so many years later, when our father became incapacitated.

What is it with this “covid thing” that has otherwise rational people emotionally blackmailing their own closest family members? That has me gobsmacked more than any other havoc it has wrought, frankly. Well, we know what it is - those who would be our overlords (and the evil one who drives them) just love dividing us, in whatever way(s) they can. I just never though it would get this bad, in this particular way. If only divisive family members could see that it wasn’t their relatives’ decisions that were really fueling the division and disharmony. Sigh.
