A webcam is broadcasting live from Fagradalsfjall, facing Geldingadalur, where a fissure eruption began Friday night, 19th March. RÚV engineers worked through the night to revive the previously-popular earthquake monitoring webcam and to re-orientate it towards the volcano. It was previously located on Borgarfjall when scientists believed an eruption was most likelt at Nátthagi.
Saturday morning (20th March), the camera was moved and is now on Fagradalsfjall, facing Geldingadalur.
It is over a month since an earthquake swarm started on the Reykjanes peninsula in late February and a magma dyke started to form below the surface -- first from Keilir in the north, but then moving south under Fagradalsfjall and Nátthagi.

I go to that video several times a day.
If you click on YouTube at the bottom of the screen to watch it there, you can go back up to 12 hours in the stream to see what’s been going on.
I’ve been watching since they set up the cam and it’s been amazing to see how the fissure has changed over time.
Of course, some libs are just now destroying the view.
Obscuring the view with a sign “no deportation”.
You cannot get rid of those even in the wilderness of Iceland. Shame!
