Every single one those channels are still very much there and streaming.
That is a big difference - much older fan base, more formally dressed...but the parents were raising their kids on this show and within 15-20 years it was a cult following among teens and young adults and the audience was loaded with them.
Seems they, like YouTube, don't want the uninformed masses to stumble across truth on their TV.
If I go to Pluto.tv from my computer, which I just tried now after your reply, I see that the conservative news sites that you had listed do indeed have streaming content on the computer.
But, the Pluto Smart TV app on my Samsung TVs, as of about two months ago, has an indefinite wait for streaming content to start and never does. All other Pluto channels work on the Samsung TV Pluto App, all but the conservative news sites.
Youtube blocks content, including conservative political content, from the YouTube Samsung App, I've seen this numerous times. The TV app has no search results for certain contents, but it can be pulled up on a browser Youtube session on a computer without a problem.
I would like to hear from others using the Samsung Smart TV Pluto app, if the same conservative news feed blockage is experienced.
Looks like it may be something Samsung is doing. Otherwise, if Pluto was wanting it blocked they would simply drop the channels from their line-up.
I am using the Pluto app on the Roku box and they are there.
I’m wondering if this will continue - since Pluto is now owned by CBS is they will continue to carry rival news network streams - I note they also have content from NBC news and other news networks that are competitors to CBS. Could be old contracts still in effect from prior to CBS purchasing it from the independent start up that Pluto used to be.
You're probably correct about CBS/viacom dropping competing news sources once contracts end.
Blocked? Those channels all work for me on Pluto TV, via my AppleTV, Roku or on pluto.tv (web browser).
I noticed that this Price is Right channel is now also available on the Redbox app on Roku (and probably other devices) on its free streaming channels section.
Appears to be a more stable app than PlutoTV (on PlutoTV the show jumping back and forth between segments, commercial breaks not firing and ending at the right times, etc. does not seem to be happening on this Redbox app), and you don’t get bombarded with ads that have graphic, inappropriate content for shows like “RuPaul’s drag race” and other R/x-rated shows that CBS seems to like pushing even on channels that should be appealing toward the whole family including kids.
Redbox doesn’t appear to have channel numbers for its streaming channels side but you can find it quickly by scrolling down - you will see the logo. Some of you also mentioned the instability of the channels on Pluto being an issue and you might find some of the other channels you liked watching on this Redbox app as well where it will be more stable.
I would like to see some of the old Bob Barker “Truth or Consequences”. In the early years of the “New” Price is Right, Dennis James was the night-time host. He did just fine. That was an era of great game show hosts: Bill Cullen, Wink Martindale, Jack Barry, Art Fleming, Gary Moore, Art James, Gene Rayburn and Peter Marshall. Guys like Chuck Woolery and Alex Trebek were a bit of a downgrade.
