I must admit to spending a good deal of this month reliving my childhood by watching reruns of the Bob Barker era of ‘The Price is Right.’ Come on Down! The streaming service Pluto.tv launched the Bob Barker Era ‘Price is Right’ Channel in early December. I couldn’t resist taking a peek. And I’ll confess that I’ve spent a number of hours this month watching those old shows.
Pluto.tv escaped my notice until I learned about their ‘Price’ plans. It turns out ViacomCBS now owns the streaming service. It also owns CBS, the network where The Price is Right made its debut in 1972. It’s almost a cable lineup in itself. The service offers multiple “channels” that include programming from some of ViacomCBS’s popular cable nets like TVLand, as well as “channels” devoted to genres of shows. There’s a “Game Show Central” channel that runs a lot of Game Show Network original games.
You can access it through its website or through your Roku device for free. Yes, for free.

I used to watch Pluto. Then I realized it is CBS. It would also suck up all my computer resources and freeze it. I havent that problem with other streaming sites.
How exciting.

Pluto has been running “Leverage”, one of the best and smartest shows ever.
Bob is still drawing a breath today at age 97.
I imagine he’s already written several bios.
He is a big part of American Television History, along with Milton Berle, Ed Sullivan and Lucille Ball.
PlutoTV also has multiple conservative and Republican-leaning channels too, including TheFirst (Buck Sexton, Jesse Kelly, Dana Loesch), BlazeTV (Glenn Beck’s channel), America’s Voice (War Room Pandemic with Steve Bannon), NewsMax TV, and OAN Plus (One America News’ highlight channel). Highly recommended.
It’s been on Pluto for awhile.
I find I watch Pluto less and less because no matter the channel, it always goes out, comes back on, goes out, and so on. Also, you can watch one channel and based on my experience, the channel line-up changes and when I flip through channels, I usually know what is next when I click but almost every time now, it changes.
I watch those channels on Pluto often. My wife gets mad at me when I binge Storage Wars, Mountain Men or COPS.
Reliving 1972 prices would be exciting enough.
But the topper is watching the models gaze lustfully at prizes like a year’s supply of Turtle Wax or a box of Jiffy Pop popcorn.

The women in the audience are generally 100 pounds lighter than those on the Carey version...better dressed, as well.
He was great on Truth or Consequences as well.
Before the election they carried Newsmax, OAN, The Blaze, Americas Voice, and the First - featuring real news, but now only those channels are blocked.
Pluto.tv is participating in the cancel culture.
Tune them out.
And the price of the new car almost always started with "3"... at least when I watched.
