That’s an odd dip in newly administered doses. I’m curious whether there are some idiosyncrasies in the reporting that aren’t readily apparent.

It's just one data point and it was a Monday. But do you think demand for vaccines might be tapering off?

God gave us brains bigger than house cats so we could develop tools to keep us safe and provide ourselves with the time and energy to give Him thanks. Tools like shelter and clothing to keep us safe from the elements. Tools like agriculture and animal husbandry to keep us safe from starvation. And tools like medicine and vaccination to keep us safe from disease.

Choosing not to use the intellect given to us by God to advance our species and preserve life is clearly against His wishes.

Your graphic could easily be used to justify crazy practices like playing with poisonous snakes, since enough faith in God should be enough to protect you from the snake biting you or the poison killing you. No, it’s a snake. God gave us brains big enough to stay away from the darn things and make weapons to kill them when they come after us. The snake is going to do whatever the snake it going to do.

I know a lot of younger people (in their 30s, 40s, and 50s) who are desperately trying to get their hands on it as quickly as possible. They’ve been calling around every doctor’s office, hospital, and pharmacy in their area trying to get an appointment. Some have been debating lying about having a qualifying condition to get it.

I don’t think there’s any tapering of demand. I think the various state governments are simply too incompetent to get the doses where they need to go so people can get them.

That’s a good point.
Not just the logistical problems but also the prioritization efforts. Younger people have been shut out but seems to be opening up in various states.

“an odd dip in newly administered doses”

I think it is still within the normal range of variation (although a low dip). Almost 2 million shots for the day.

Before yesterday’s report (the one before this one), we had three record days in a row (about 3.3 million/day), so we are still averaging upward, on a seven day average.

I think demand seems to taper off after around 2/3rds of an age group get done, but that is reportedly changing over time, as vaccine hesitancy reportedly wanes.

Some of the delays/tapering of demands may be the dancing around re the availability of the second shot. One close to 80 year old female relative in the Mid West, is still waiting to be notified re getting her second shot.

After she got her first shot, she was told that she would be notified before the time limit for her second shot. So far, nothing. However, when she tried to get her 2nd shot at a VA clinic with her husband. She was told by the VA, that she had to go to where she got her first shot. It matter when she told the VA that she had not heard from the place that gave her, the first shot.

A relative in the SW has gotten the two shots for her husband, late 70’s and with severe other diseases. She is finally up for her first shot this weekend. Where her husband got his 2 shots.

One of our younger relatives out here used the magical # I have posted here to try and get his 2 nd shot. He was told that he had to go the pharmacy where he got his first shot and drive past about a dozen pharmacies with the drug in the county where he lives to the out of county pharmacy.

If they give you the first, they are supposed to schedule the 2nd.

The key words are: “they are supposed to schedule the 2nd!”

He also gave us natural immunity in which I trust more than VaccinateGate.

That trust didn’t work out well for about 500 million smallpox victims in just the last 100 years it tormented humanity. Nor for all those in iron lungs due to polio. Both wiped out of western society thanks to vaccines. 0.65% of those infected with COVID-19 die. 0% when they’re vaccinated.
