The highest paid Los Angeles lifeguards earn up to $392,000 annually — and dozens of others rake in more than $200,000 a year, according to an investigation by Forbes.
Seven LA County lifeguards earned more than $300,000 in taxpayer dough by tapping into overtime pay in 2019, the latest year available, Forbes found.
Meanwhile, 82 of the sun-soaked public employees made more than $200,000 during the same year, according to the outlet, which cited data obtained by its own auditors.

Per LA County, around 59 grand starting base salary annually for an officer.
If I were any type of LA lifesaver, such as an EMT, or an ER nurse, wow, I’d throw a fit.
Their salaries aren’t too far behind.
$59,000 for a police officer sure seems VERY far behind. They save a lot more lives than a lifeguard.

I am or was in the wrong line of work.
$44.75 per hour if they work 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. If they work 80 hours per week with time and a half after 40 that comes to a base rate of over $75.
