I think it is called, “counsel of the circle of the neocons”, who were surrounding him. Manipulation, coercion, and lies. After all, he was a bit of a political newbie...God save us all.
Ask Pence.
I have often wondered the same thing.
I figured it was something a swamp dweller like Mitch McConnell may have issued a threat to Trump about.
“If you replace Wray, in spite of my asking you to leave him there, The Senate is very likely going to start an investigation of .....(Javanka?) about the ....(Jared’s business dealings in Israel?) I do not know. I only guess.
I am sure Trump saw how shabby an FBI Leader Wray turned out to be. What else but an applied threat of action would have prevented the change? Donald Trump is quite capable of keeping a secret when he wants to. We may never know the answer.
Exactly. Trump didn’t control the Senate, McConnell did. Trump was limited to someone McConnell would push thru.
I think like myself he made the mistake of knowing there was corruption but not knowing EVERYONE is corrupt in DC. It’s hard to believe, hard to get a grasp of first, but then when you see the time that has elapsed since the last real Republican President was in office, 1989 Ron Reagan, that is a pretty damn long time. That’s 28 years of the Bush/Clinton/Obama criminal cartels running things like the Mafia until Trump took office in which he made the massive mistake of publicly saying he was going to “drain the swamp” instead on infiltrating quietly first and making these domestic enemies think he was on their side.
He trusted advisors who had other agendas, but it's hard to know until they show their cards.
I, and almost everybody here, thought Bill Barr was going to strangle the deep state. Instead, he gave them a neck massage and a complimentary reach-around.
Ed Meese was the last decent Attorney General. That was over 30 years ago.
He thinks ANTIFA is an idea.
Jeff Sessions Flashback...
In a statement, Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Wednesday called Wray “an extraordinary person” with “outstanding accomplishments and a proven record of public service.” He lauded Wray’s past work as a U.S. attorney and his service at the Justice Department, especially in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, when Wray was the principal associate deputy attorney general.
“Chris combines a brilliant legal mind, outstanding accomplishments, and a proven record of public service. We are fortunate that he is willing to make this personal commitment to serve his country at this important time,” Sessions said in a statement. “The President asked us to look for an FBI Director who has integrity, who understands and is committed to the rule of law, and who is dedicated to protecting the American people from crime, gangs, and terrorists. We have found our man in Chris Wray.”

If he had been silent about draining the swamp, we wouldn't understand what he was up to. He did need our support to do this. It's one of his campaign promises.
Problem is... no one was aware how deep and thick the swamp is.
At least, President Trump exposed that. With that knowledge we are able to fight back...if we choose to.
did I ever mix up the tenses!!
I think Trump and many others were aware... and planned to take the swamp down. However, legally, if they needed more evidence, they would have to obtain it. That means sometimes putting people in power where they could perform swampiness, would be expected to, and that would be recorded and documented, for prosecution.
Regards,
agree.
I think many conservatives like myself had no idea how pervasive the corruption had become because it was silent and covered by the media and the DOJ. It’s at a point where one great President can’t do it alone. He needs people who will fight the swamp alongside him. We need to be as determined to save the country as the Left is determined to destroy it.
You’re a Wray supporter?
Covered UP by the media. Sorry.
Why do you infer that? Because I asked for corroboration?
If Wray's "corruption" is so obvious, it shouldn't be difficult to pull up five bullet points in a jiffy.
Regards,
He was recommended to Trump by Chris Christie. Incredibly unfortunate as trump was too trusting.
